Engine 165 and Ladder 85 are located in the heart of New Dorp in Staten Island, New York at 3067 Richmond road. Organized and placed in service on June18, 1960. Engine 165 and Ladder 85 is the most central firehouse in Staten Island and typically respond to all three battalion areas of the Island. Their first due area consist mostly of taxpayers and private dwellings. Engine 165 is also the only HMTU (Haz-mat technician unit) on the Island, one of four in the city part of the Special Operations Command.
